I do a daily three card reading - one card representing the general vibe of the day and what to watch out for, another representing me and another representing advice - and recently I keep getting cards related to change so this all resonates with me! I just finished a long term job and am starting a new creative professional project. As part of my daily spread I’ve been getting the Tower for the “advice” card multiple times this week which I’m finding very hard to interpret - any suggestions on how to see it as an advice card?

Oh, I love this question! I'd explore the opportunity that The Tower might provide - structures crumbling? opportunities to rebuild? stale institutions or ideas that are on their way out?

Thanks for this! A very good way to see it.

Love this reading, it's got such a hopeful energy! I also wanted to share my silly surprise: when you were talking about the pictures of your hands, I thought "This is about reaching for the 7 Cups" and then you mentioned the Ace of Wands, and I genuinely did not see this coming - hah!!

I love this, Mady! Got a soft chuckle out of me (only bc I'm in the library, otherwise it'd be full volume!) - and making me think about another possible nuance - reaching to accept the ace vs. dropping it for the cups? Or in the surprise of the cups? Hmm! Would love to hear your thoughts!

Oh I hadn't thought about the ace of wands in one of the 7 Cups, I like that a lot! Initially, I was thinking about ace of wands vs. 7 of cups, and I got an immediate feeling of confusion when I first saw the 3 cards. But your interpretation of the ace in one of the cups is very interesting, especially with the wheel of fortune, as if things are just down to luck? What do you think?

Ooh, this is interesting! I was initially thinking more of us/"the reader" as protagonist first reaching out to grasp the wand being offered by the Ace and then dropping it in surprise when overwhelmed by the array in the Seven of Cups. Basically, the challenge being not dropping your new wand when confronted by the imaginative overload of the Seven.

Absolutely love the "things are just down to luck" read of the W of F! Definitely puts a nice context on the cards before: do what you can but it's all about to get shaken up!

Oooh I see! I love the idea of the challenge of staying with the ace of wands, when facing the 7 cups. This is such good advice! It might even be what will help us keep our balance (I see it like a cane) when the wheel of fortune starts spinning. Hm... Very very good advice for the rest of the week, thanks Gina! And thanks for nerding about this set of cards together!

Curious to see how this played out for you this week, Mady! I definitely had to grapple with the Seven of Cups temptation over the opportunity of the Ace of Wands... really, more of an "overwhelmed by potential futures" verging on anxiety situation which is an interesting facet to add to the seven imo!

I completely understand, I've often got that with the 7 of cups, and it can be a confusing card for me. Sorry to hear that was your experience of it this week! I had a fairly similar experience, with a hint of wariness towards what could be in the cups in front of me... And actually, your monthly reading helped on Wednesday, especially thanks to what you said about the challenge of the judgment card and its "do or die" energy. So I was reminding myself to not interpret the 7 cups and the overwhelming choices (and potential mistakes) as a "do or die" situation. Phew - not super pleasant but interesting to notice!
